wow, looks like alot fun, whats done to the car motor/suspension wise ?
this car was originally one of the five SCCA ProRally cars built in 01/02 and raced as part of the 'factory supported' Mopar team - all but one were privately owned so they are all still being raced (except Doug Shepherd's which got balled up at X-Games I and is still sitting in his garage) -
mine was the least 'built' and the least raced - stock motor (just an intake and a high-flow cat..) but really 250 ish hp is all 2wd can handle in the dirt anyway - although the others were all stage 2 or 3 with spooled diff - maybe I should say 'all I can handle in the dirt...'
cage goes from front strut towers to the rear strut towers tieing everything together so it is stiff as h3ll and we are running Dynamic gravel-spec suspension (out of the UK) ...
this rally had some fast smooth stages and we saw 115 or so a few times - 115 on gravel is more like 'guiding' than driving
Awesome!!
I love it!
neon with SRT swap?????
which is why you have SXT wheels and SXT rear bumper???

kinda - Neon VIN and it was built before the SRT4 came out so it is all pre-pruduction SRT stuff but I now have an 05' trans so I am not 1 wheel drive anymore
decent rally tires are only avail in 15quot; so everyone runs some ort of 15 inch wheels and the snowflakes are cheap and tough!! (if anyone has spares let me know...)
and I just have a BillyBoat downpipe (with a cat - I have to be street registered and insured to enter casue we drive on some public 'roads') and a single pipe straight back - no need for dual outlets so the Neon bumper works perfectly (I always need front and rear bumpers if anyone has damaged ones - I tear them up - especailly the fronts!!)
Thts an awesome car man nice racing reppin it for the srt's props man props
Aw dang! I live in Ridgecrest!
Nice man I bet that's a lot of fun.
Great pics and results! It's interesting to hear about your car's origins. I had no idea that your's was one of the factory racers.
awesome pics!

I hit a 105 mph in my SRT when it was lowered on a badass dirt road up in the white mountains near Big Pine,CA... you guys should really take your car
up there....Look for quot;White Mountain Peak Roadquot; on google maps.. you can get to it from Big Pine on 168 east. There are stretches of that road up at 11,000 feet.. but it's wide open and perfect for rally.
Couple of pics from up there.. .way above the tree line.
Dam thats nice what does a light setup like that cost? And do you use a different alternator? |
